This winter, apply your skills through scrimmaging

Refine your tactical soccer skills with Avila’s level-specific, tactical Scrimmaging Program! Each week, players, identified by wristband color (see descriptions for details), will engage in scrimmages on our indoor fields. This program is designed to sharpen their tactical understanding of the outdoor game, ensuring they stay in peak form for their club teams.

Our Scrimmage Program includes:

  • A 4v4 format
  • Avila-certified trainers injected into the games
  • An emphasis on the Art of Triangles and Passing Lanes
  • Off-the-ball Movement is totally demystified
  • Position-specific techniques explained with laser focus
  • Players taught to work as a unit

These scrimmages, with players of similar skill level, provide the best opportunity for your child to apply what they've learned. Multiple position-specific coaches will be on the field to deconstruct game situations, encourage smart assertiveness, provide personalized attention, and introduce new tactical possibilities to each player.

The Scrimmage program is designed to put your developing player in a formal scrimmage situation that mimics the real game. In this program, scrimmaging is broken down into its elements and treated like skill that can deconstructed.

It’s first-come, first-served with limited spots available, and is only offered now in-between the Fall and Spring season when players need optimal parameters of development. For that reason, it’s sold in conjunction with with our Winter Immersion Program.

Avila is committed to creating groups that are even in experience and skill. If for some reason the player is assessed at the wrong armband level, we will offer other options that benefit both the group and the individual.

3. Provide us with your preferred day/time/location based on age, level and availability by filling out a form.

Fill out a Scrimmage preference form

You'll receive a confirmation with either your preferred scrimmage group (if available and eligible) or alternative scrimmage options. Once a scrimmage group is agreed upon, it will be your group for the semester.

Mandatory Baseline Assessments

All new players, players that have never been assessed, or players returning from a semester's absence must schedule and purchase the mandatory $10 Baseline Assessment fee (free on the One-Year Package).

Continuing players don't need to purchase or schedule a Baseline Assessment.
