Eryck Avila is the founder and creator of The Soccer Climb and Avila Creative Soccer, a seasoned soccer coach and academic who has spent over four decades helping parents and players navigate the game with clarity, purpose, and a belief that creativity is a teachable process.
My Story
That summer over 40 years ago—when I landed my first coaching gig—was also my first glimpse into the world of soccer parents: their questions, their hopes, their worries. Over time, my answers got better. Maybe because the questions got harder.
That curiosity took me from the field to the classroom. I earned a master’s degree and am now finishing a doctorate—all in pursuit of the same goal: to cut through the noise, bring clarity, and show that creativity isn’t some mystery. It’s a process.
Today’s parents are flooded with advice and data. What they need isn’t more information—it’s someone who can filter it, translate it, and hand it back as something they can actually use. That’s why I built The Soccer Climb. Not just for players—but for the parents who walk beside them. The ones who didn’t grow up with the game but grew into it, because their kid had something special.
If your child has the fire to climb, take the next step. Let’s go together.
