Private Lessons

Share |

Private lessons, for some children, are a better way to deliver skills training. The 1-to-1 scenario (or 2-to-1 scenario if you'd like to share a private lesson with a friend for greater cost savings) allows the instructor to stop and deconstruct a particular move, skill or trick. Because there is only one athlete to guide, the trainer can tailor the session specifically to a problem area or areas of interest. Tactical awareness issues can be addressed in a private lesson too, and this sense of awareness often leads to quick improvements on game day. However, not everyone is suitable for private training. Some athletes find the pressure to be something they are trying to escape with their training at Avila rather than embrace. As such, there is an interview process for entering private training to ensure that this type of training is something your child is looking for and will enjoy.... One thing is for sure—for the right athlete there is no quicker way to improve!

Here are four great reasons to take private lessons:

  • Be prepared for tryouts. Have confidence!
  • Having a slump? We'll snap you out of it!
  • Learn specific skills you feel that you may currently lack.
  • Reinforce the skills/mindset you already learned.
the trainer can stop a session for the purposes of deconstructing a particular move, skill or trick. Because there is only one athlete (or possibly two) to guide, the trainer can still keep that athlete’s heart rate up. Usually instruction and heart rate trade off in larger groups because the instructor has to consider group dynamics.

Tactical awareness issues can be addressed in a one on one session too, and this often leads to quick improvemnets on game day. However, not everyone is suitable for private training. Some athletes find the pressure to be something they are trying to escape with their training at Avila rather than embrace. As such, there is an interview process for entering private training to ensure that this type of training is something your child is looking for and will enjoy.
